I finally flashed Manjaro's KDE iso directly from the ssd to a flash drive using etcher and it worked fine. I read the wiki regarding secure boot and did see the "linspire" or whatever choice a couple of times when using the boot menu. The bios does not give me an option to boot in anything but UEFI mode. The system failed to recognize it as a bootable drive both with secure boot enabled and disabled. I then went to install Manjaro linux onto the system using my ssd with ventoy installed. I recently purchased two refurbished acer aspire 5 laptop's and upgraded the memory/ssd in them. I've been using a 512gb external SSD in enclosure to boot various linux distro's for some time now and it's worked fine on the various desktop's I've tried till now. No response Image file download link (if applicable) HYNIX Image file checksum (if applicable) I didn't try these alternative boot modes. I have tried the latest release, but the bug still exist.
